Save a Life Workshops

Would you know what to do if your baby (or a baby in your care) stopped breathing?

Nine out of ten parents don’t know First Aid facts that could help them save a baby’s life.
We are running a series of Royal Life Saving Society accredited ‘save a life’ workshops starting with Save a Baby’s life on 14 May.

Save a Baby’s Life: Sunday 14 May, 2pm – 4pm
This workshop is suitable for anyone who cares for a baby (parents, siblings, Grandparents etc).
The syllabus of the workshop is:

  • Infant Life Support (CPR)
  • Infant Choking (diagnosis and treatment)
  • Infant Drowning (prevention, diagnosis and treatment)

Save a Child’s Life: Sunday 16 July, 2pm – 4pm
This workshop is suitable for all members of the community, especially those with young children.
The syllabus of the workshop is:

  • Life Support for Children (CPR)
  • Choking for Children (diagnosis and treatment)
  • Drowning in Children (prevention, diagnosis and treatment)

Save an Adult’s Life: Sunday 3 September, 2pm – 4pm
The Save an Adult’s Life Workshop is suitable for all members of the community.
The syllabus of the workshop is:

  • Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Choking (diagnosis and treatment)
  • Drowning (prevention, diagnosis and treatment)

Save a Life AED Workshop: Sunday 5 November, 2pm – 4pm
The Save a Life AED Workshop is suitable for all members of the community.
The syllabus of the workshop is:

  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

Each course is accredited by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) and is taught by a qualified RLSS trainer at the Pickaquoy Centre.

Each course costs £15 person, includes CPR and choking guide z-card and certificate.

Minimum age for participation in the courses is 12 years.

Light refreshments provided during each course.
