First Steps to Fitness

The first steps to fitness group is designed to help you build the knowledge and confidence to start your fitness journey. This four-week programme will consist of two 60 minute sessions per week with expert trainer Katie Rafferty and one 45 minute group exercise taster session per week led by one of our friendly group exercise instructors. You will also receive two weekly passes to the gym and group exercise classes plus a free gym induction.

The sessions led by Katie (BSc Applied Sport Science and Level 3 Personal Trainer), will start with spending time discussing different areas of health and fitness including nutrition and gym planning. The second half of each session will consist of focusing on a different element of fitness including indoor cycling, aerobics, gym based boxing, to ensure you get a chance
to try a wide range of activities.

The group exercise taster sessions will give you the opportunity to sample a range of exercise classes from beginner level so you get the chance to work on technique and build confidence.

Throughout the programme, you will be supported and motivated in a friendly small group environment. After four weeks, you will have gained the skills and confidence to make a start on your own fitness journey.

THE WEEKLY PROGRAMME WILL BE DELIVERED AS FOLLOWS:

Tuesday 7.30pm – 8.30pm – Katie session
Thursday 6.30pm – 7.15pm – Group exercise taster session
Saturday 9.45am – 10.45am – Katie session

Cost: £60 (this includes the 3 sessions per week as detailed above and 2 activity passes per week which can be used for the gym and or/group exercise.)
