In 1910, British press magnate Lord Rawnsley offers £10,000 to the winner of the Daily Post cross channel air race, from London to Paris. His aim is to prove that Britain is “number one in the air”, but the race brings aviators from all over the world, and rivalries and complications ensue as the flyers jockey for position and the affections of various women.
British period comedy featuring an international ensemble cast, including Stuart Whitman, Sarah Miles, Robert Morley, Terry-Thomas, James Fox, Red Skelton, Jean-Pierre Cassel, Gert Fröbe and Alberto Sordi.
