As her marriage flounders, eminent high court judge Fiona Maye has a life changing decision to make at work. 17-year-old Adam is a Jehovah’s Witness, and is refusing the blood transfusion that will save his life because of his and his family’s religious beliefs. In an unorthodox move, she visits the young man in hospital before delivering a verdict that has profound ramifications both personally and professionally.
